Objectives
of the project
My Sporting Heritage project aims to contribute to identify, preserve and promote European sporting heritage.
By doing so, the project aims to strengthen a sense of belonging to the European Union through heritage, physical practices and the values of sport.
Background
and motivation
Although experts in the field of sport and culture agree that there is a rich European sporting heritage, very little is known about it by the general public.
My Sporting Heritage project will also respond to the lack of educational tools that approach European sporting culture through the prism of heritage, especially for young people.
Planned project
outcomes
Several workshops, online conferences and printed publications will help to take stock of Europe's sporting heritage. We want to make the research on the sporting heritage available to as many people as possible.
The project will therefore include the creation of digital educational tools related to physical activities for young people: a virtual exhibition will make it possible to identify the common heritage of the European members, while giving a place to the local traditions and physical practices of each country, and a digital educational kit, including several games, will be available for free download in several languages. These educational resources will highlight Europe's sporting heritage.
